sketch of the day-in praise of the unfinished sketch

Sometimes you just don't have time to finish. I  plan to return to unfinished sketches, but often the moment has passed, some new thing has taken my attention and the sketch remains as it was.

If I'm honest though, I kind of like unfinished sketches--seeing the raw pencil lines, the bones of the drawing.

Here a detail from one done on a blinding white sand beach my husband and I visited last year on the Big Island.
